‘INDYCUBE SIGNS FIRST BUSINESS DEVELOPER’

Internet entrepreneur Tom Gallard has been the first person to sign up for a business development programme which offers access to a £500,000 annual funding scheme and expert advice.

The 29 year old from Cardiff owns online photo printing system Pwinty which has gone in to partneership with Indycube Ventures and benefited from it’s targeted Develop and Grow programme.

Mr Gallard set up Pwinty 18 months ago to provide an integrated system to handle ordering, production and delivery of items for websites offering printing of photographs and images.

He currently works for Port-Talbot based IT company Norland Technology and is planning to expand Pwinty further thanks to the backing from Indycube Ventures.

He said: ‘I started Pwinty early in 2012 and with the support and encouragement of the CardiffStart community have been slowly building it up so that I concentrate on the business full-time.’

‘Getting the right sort of financial and practical support is key for me to be able to expand, and the partnership with Indycube Ventures will allow me to do this.’

Indycube ventures was established earlier this year by Angel Investor David Hulston and Mark Hooper, who founded co-working business Indycube CIC (Community Interest Company) three years ago.

indycube CIC runs five coworking spaces in South Wales, including three in Cardiff, one in Newport and one in Swansea.

Mr Hooper said: ‘There are a number of small businesses in Wales, including many that operate from Indycube, that have not been able to expand because they have not had access to funding or relevant advice and support.

‘Indycube Ventures was set up so that small operations which have a business plan that shows they can expand go to the next level.

‘Tom’s concept fits in perfectly with this.

‘He is just one of the many people in Wales who have good ideas, but who may need the business skills to make them a success. Tom will get all the support, both financial and practical, that he requires to drive Pwinty to further success.’

Mentoring

"We have benefited greatly from David's experience, counsel and contacts on a wide range of issues. His past experience in the IP space is particularly useful to Inngot, but even without that, he is just the sort of investor and non-executive director a high growth business needs. He sees potential, makes connections, and keeps us focused on the things that matter."Martin Brassell, CEO, Inngot Ltd
